5 Things to do on Khao San Road
The Khao San Road area is a vibrant part of Bangkok. It buzzes all day but really comes alive at night as the temperatures fade and the night sets in. It is a busy place and a notorious stomping ground for backpackers.
Shop Khao San Road
Khao San Road is the destination of choice for bargain hunters as all the thrifty backpackers keep prices low. Souvenirs of every sort are available from the many, many stores that line the streets in the area and it is also possible to find rows of miniature Buddhas. inexpensive clothes, fisherman trousers, Buddha hand carvings, wooden elephants, wedge-shaped Thai axe pillows, artwork, bags, jewellery, accessories, luggage, bootleg CDs, DVDs and books.
Have a Thai massage
What can be best described as massage-cafes operate on the Khao San Road strip, where it is possible to have a leg massage while downing beers with friends and watching the world go by. If you prefer a bit more privacy there are also massage shops where you are not in full view of the street while you get pummelled.
Eat Thai food!
There are many good eats to be had and a wide variety is on offer ranging from Thai food to international cuisine. You could even try a fried cockroach. You can sit in restaurants and cafes, or buy something from a street vendor and sit on a stoop to eat it. There are also several snack stalls selling treats like sweet dumplings and fresh fruit.
People watching in Bangkok
Virtually all of the bars and cafes along Khao San Road offer magnificent people-watching opportunities. It is easy to spend an evening watching the weird and wonderful sights go by over a drink or two. Some bars offer wild cocktails, but most places can offer you a cool Tiger beer at the very least.
Enjoy Khao San Road nightlife
Khao San Road really comes alive at night and the party continues on until dawn. Loud music booms from clubs, neon lights brighten the night sky and drinks flow. There is a buzz in the air as the party warms up and young Thais, backpackers and tourists party the night away. The nightlife is pretty full on here, but there are also areas to have a quieter drink, don’t imagine you will get much sleep if staying nearby though.
Have you been to Khao San Road? What did you enjoy the most?

I simply enjoy night market shopping because I can look for trendy dresses, memorabilia’s and shoes at cheaper price in Thailand.
