Glorious scenes of beautiful Paris seduce viewers as they follow heroine Emily’s adventures in love, life and marketing. This list of more than 40 filming locations is separated into the key ‘must-see’ locations (numbered 1-10 on the map and easily walked around in an afternoon), and an extended list that is organised in clusters of nearby locations. I’ve marked the locations listed below on this map.

Instantly recognisable and easy to find, Emily’s apartment is centrally-located on a charming little square, just south of the Pantheon.
Where is Gabriel’s Restaurant ?

Italian restaurant ‘Terra Nera’ is the name of the restaurant filmed as Gabriel’s in the show, and it is on the same square as Emily’s apartment.

The imposing building behind Emily as she takes this phone call is the Pantheon – final resting place of France’s most distinguished citizens (Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Alexandre Dumas, Marie Curie, Jean Moulin, Simone Veil, Josephine Baker, and others). It’s only about 100m from her apartment and you can take a tour.

One of Mindy and her bandmates’ more spectacular backdrops (and there’s some competition) was in front of the St Michel Fountain. This is a large open square by the river with several lively cafes for people-watching.

After much ‘will-they-won’t-they?’ Emily’s love interest gets smoochy on the oldest bridge in Paris. Amusingly it is named ‘New bridge’ because it was the newest at the time it was built in 1607.

The elegant Paris park bench where Emily strikes up a conversation with Mindy is one of many in the gardens of Paris’ Palais Royal. Their bench is the one featuring the Jean Cocteau quote.

Restaurant Jules Verne, Avenue Anatole France, 75015
Despite the spectacular views, Emily’s bosses Madeleine and Sylvie argue over lunch at the restaurant on the Eiffel Tower.
Tip: Booking a table at the restaurant enables you to avoid queuing to climb the Eiffel Tower. Beware however, it is expensive!
Café at Musée de l’homme, 17 Place du Trocadero, 75116
Emily impresses Antoine at the Maison Lavaux party with the spectacular view of the sparkling Eiffel Tower in the background (lead photo above).
Tip: You have the same view from nearby Place du Trocadéro (without entering the museum).
Hotel Plaza Athenée, 25 Avenue Montaigne, 75008
Emily goes ice-skating with colleagues at the hotel’s inner courtyard ice rink. If the hotel looks familiar it’s possibly because it’s the hotel where Carrie Bradshaw stayed during her visit to Paris.
Tip: The ice rink is seasonal and only in place during winter.
Pont Alexandre III (bridge), 75008
The controversial perfume promo shoot featuring a naked model was filmed on the bridge.
Tip: This is one of the most ornate and beautiful bridges over the Seine River – well worth a photo!
Café Marly, 93 Rue de Rivoli, 75002
Emily has lunch with Sylvie overlooking the Louvre pyramid.
Tip: Eating in this restaurant is a great way to take in the magnificent surroundings without being in the middle of all the crowds.
Pont des Arts (bridge), 75002
Mindy’s early busking spot was on this bridge.
Tip: There are often real buskers on this bridge which is pedestrian-only and one of the more enjoyable river crossings.
La Samaritaine, 59 Rue de Rivoli, 75001
Emily and Petra, her Ukrainian friend from French class go shopping at this iconic Paris department store.
Tip: Recently refurbished, the décor in la Samaritaine is glorious. A great place to soak up some Paris style.
Musée d’Orsay, Esplanade Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, 75007
Gabriel and Camille’s first date took place in this museum dedicated to Impressionist art.
Tip: This one-time train station, now museum is a world-leader in Impressionist art and houses some of the most famous paintings in the world. Definitely worth a visit if you like art.
Monnaie de Paris, 11 Quai de Conti, 75006
A Pierre Cadault fashion show took place here during Paris Fashion Week.
Tip: This museum is next to the river and nearby there is a cluster of bouquinistes (riverside antiques and souvenir shops), which are worth browsing for souvenirs.
Café de Flore, 172 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75006
Emily meets Thomas in this café.
Tip: This cafe has a long history as a hangout of artists, authors and intellectuals. Historical clients include: Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Eugène Ionesco, Pablo Picasso, and many others.
Saint Sulpice Church, 2 Rue Palatine, 75006
Emily bumps into Alfie at Christmas and it snows
Tip: Victor Hugo married Adèle Foucher in this church in 1822 and some granddaughters of French king Louis XIV (Louise Elisabeth de Bourbon and Louise Elisabeth d’ Orleans) are buried in the church.
Luxembourg gardens, 75006
Emily goes jogging through this beautiful historic park in early seasons.
Tip: As well as being beautiful, these gardens are a children’s paradise with an extensive playground, children’s puppet show, pony rides and ponds with rented toy sailboats.
l’Opera Garnier, Place de l’Opéra, 75009
Emily’s doomed date with Thomas almost took place at the Paris Opera but she sweet-talked Pierre Cadault instead. Sylvie and husband visit on a night out too.
Tip: You can take a tour inside the Opera building during the day or, of course, attend an opera. The domed ceiling above the auditorium was painted by artist Marc Chagall in 1964.
Galeries Lafayette, 40 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009
Savoir’s face cream promo was on show at France’s favourite department store.
Tip: The roof terrace is free to access from the 6th floor of the building and offers fantastic views across Paris of Opera, the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur in Montmartre.
Tortuga Restaurant, 25 rue de la Chaussée d’Antin 75009
Camille and Emily make their pact about Gabriel over lunch at this rooftop restaurant.
Tip: Eating at the restaurant is a great way to enjoy the roof terrace while also avoiding the crowds.
Bouillon Chartier Grands Boulevard, 7 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre, 75009
Gabriel takes Emily to dinner at this restaurant offering classic French cuisine at honest prices.
Tip: There are several Bouillon restaurants in Paris and they are always busy because of the price point. If you plan to go, make a reservation to avoid waiting in the queue.
Place Dalida, Rue de l’Abreuvoir, 75018
This is the quiet Montmartre square where Emily puts a bed in the street for a social media campaign.
Tip: This corner square is named after an Egyptian – French singer called Dalida whose statue is rumoured to bring good luck if you rub a certain part. I leave you to guess when you see it.
La Maison Rose, Rue de l’Abreuvoir, 75018
Emily and Mindy meet for dinner and sit outside the pink house with green shutters.
Tip: This restaurant is very small. Make a reservation if you plan to eat here.
The Wall of I Love Yous, Square Jehan Rictus, 14 Place des Abbesses, 75018
Emily and Gabriel stroll past.
Tip: The wall is in a small park containing several quiet benches and, at the far end, a children’s playground. There is a shop selling ‘wall-themed’ souvenirs near the metro, across Place des Abbesses.
Sacré Coeur, 35 Rue du Chevalier de la Barre, 75018
On her date with Marcello, Emily walks him to the top of Montmartre to see Sacré Coeur and the view across Paris.
Tip: There are often crowds here. Arrive early if you want the view to yourself!
Hotel Particulier, 23 Avenue Junot, 75018
Emily’s lunch meeting with client Durée takes place in the courtyard restaurant of this luxury hotel.
Tip: This is a good spot for a cocktail!
Moulin Rouge, Boulevard Clichy, 75018
Emily and Mindy take photos together in front of the popular cabaret show.
Tip: The Moulin Rouge continues to offer spectacular evening cabaret shows. You can buy dinner or drinks-only tickets.
Marché aux Puces, Saint Ouen, 93400
Camille and Sofia go furniture shopping in the largest antiques market in Paris.
Tip: The flea market is technically outside Paris because it is beyond the ring road, but it is not far, you can walk across.
Place des Vosges, 75004
Mindy and bandmate Benoit kiss.
Tip: There are several fancy restaurants surrounding this historic Paris square, which also features a children’s sandpit.
Père Lachaise Cemetery, 75011
Emily’s colleague Luc takes her to Honoré de Balzac’s tomb to tell her a story over a birthday picnic.
Tip: You can see the tombs of several famous people buried here including: Edith Piaf, Marcel Proust, Georges Bizet, Jim Morrison,
Atelier des Lumières, 38 Rue Saint Maur, 75011
Emily, Gabriel and Camille visit the immersive art show housed in an old warehouse.
Tip: Check the website for current exhibitions that you can buy a ticket for.
Canal Saint Martin, 75011
Emily and Thomas go on a double date with Gabriel and Camille and walk and talk on the bank of the canal.
Tip: The canal runs from the Seine up to the Bassin de la Vilette, and nearly half the length of the canal runs under the city! Strolling and sitting along the quays above ground are popular with Parisians on summer evenings.
Avenue Camoëns, 75016
Not strictly ‘in’ the show, but this residential street with a picturesque view of the Eiffel Tower is where the photo on the Season 2 poster was taken.
Tip: This street is a short walk from Place du Trocadéro and if you walk down the stairs at the end of the street you can walk down to the river and Eiffel Tower.
Hotel Molitor, 13 Rue Nungesser et Coli, 75016
Emily and Mindy relax by the pool before Emily asks the DJ to play Mindy’s song and introduces Mindy to Nicolas.
Tip: Pool access is reserved for hotel guests and restaurant or spa guests.
Roland Garros Stadium, 2 Avenue Gordon Bennett, 75016
Paris’ tennis stadium is where Emily’s misinterpreted but very timely kisscam moment with Alfie took place.
Tip: The stadium is at the southern end of the glorious 845-hectare Bois de Boulogne park, a wonderful recreation spot for Parisians, and the location of the first manned hot air balloon flight in 1783.
Chateau de Versailles, 78000
One of Emily’s fashion campaigns is filmed at the spectacular royal palace of King Louis IV.
Tip: It is an easy daytrip to take the train to Versailles to visit the Chateau and gardens.
